A late Qajar period Persian ceramic tile depicting a kneeling female figure holding a vessel amongst flowering plants. Executed in a traditional palette of cobalt blue, green, turquoise and manganese brown, the tile captures the distinctive decorative style that emerged in Iran during the late nineteenth century.
The figure is shown within a stylised garden setting, a recurring theme within Qajar decorative arts, where idealised female figures, flowers and courtly imagery were frequently employed in architectural ceramics and interior decoration. The extensive craquelure across the glaze has developed naturally over time and contributes to the character and authenticity of the piece.
Displaying well despite historic damage, the tile remains an attractive example of Qajar decorative art and would make an excellent wall display, cabinet piece or addition to a collection of Islamic and Middle Eastern ceramics.

Condition
Historic structural crack running across the body of the tile visible from the reverse and faintly visible from the front. Various edge chips, corner wear, glaze crazing and age-related surface wear throughout. The tile remains stable and displays well.
