The form references the traditional qirba (قِرْبَة), a North African water container, though here translated into a solid ceramic construction and elevated through decorative metalwork. This type of object reflects mid-20th century Moroccan workshop production, where utilitarian forms were adapted for the decorative and export market while retaining clear regional identity.
The rounded, bulbous bodies and tapering necks give the pair a sculptural presence, while the applied metalwork introduces a rhythmic, almost floral geometry across the surface.
