A bold and characterful Kurdish Anatolian runner, hand knotted in wool and dating to the late 20th century. The design is built around a sequence of large, hooked medallions incorporating star and cross motifs, giving the rug a strong rhythmic structure and a distinctly tribal visual language.

Woven in the Kurdish tradition of eastern Anatolia, the piece reflects a style where pattern is expressed through confident, angular forms rather than strict symmetry. The drawing retains a slight irregularity, adding movement and authenticity to the composition and clearly indicating hand production.

The borders are particularly lively, with an ivory guard filled with small repeating motifs and an outer band of colourful rosettes that frame the field and enhance the overall decorative impact. The palette is rich and saturated—deep aubergine tones offset by vivid pinks, turquoise, yellow and ivory—making this a striking piece that works well in both traditional and contemporary interiors.
